THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT NJDPP!

When is NJDPP? Where will it be located?

Who are the organizers of NJDPP?
The Alliance Center for Independence (ACI) have been the proud organizers of the NJDPP since 2011!

What is there to do at NJDPP?
There will be a lot of great entertainment and dancing! Take time to pick up your goodie bag and visit the many vendors who will be there!

Will there be water available?
Yes, water will be available at the ACI table.

Will there be food available at NJDPP?
Of course! Food trucks will be available at NJDPP or you are welcome to pack a lunch. There will be a limited number of tables available at the back of the big tent to sit down and eat.

How much does it cost to participate in NJDPP?
There is no registration fee. Bring money for food, the 50/50 or to purchase a commemorative t-shirt!

Do I have to be disabled to participate in NJDPP?
While this is a day of disability pride, we welcome everyone to join us! NJDPP is an opportunity to celebrate and strengthen the pride, diversity, and unity of people with disabilities, their families, and friends. Everyone who believes disability is a natural part of human diversity and supports Disability Pride is invited to participate in NJDPP.

How many people are expected to attend?
NJDPP is a statewide event, 800+ people are anticipated to participate. NJDPP welcomes friends from NY, PA and anyone else who wants to join the celebration!

Will there be sign language interpreters?
Yes, ASL interpreters will be on site.

Can I bring banners and signs?
Yes, we ENCOURAGE you to bring them. It’s a celebration; let’s have fun! Please no signs on poles or sticks.

Can I bring a camera?
Yes, please do!! We will post pictures of the event on our Facebook and Instagram pages. Please use the hashtag #NJDPP when posting your pictures!

What happens if it rains?
NJDPP is a rain or shine event, so come prepared. There will be a large 20 x 40 tent set up at the celebration for shelter. If you are unsure, please check our website adacil.org and Facebook for updates.

Will there be NJDPP t-shirts for sale?
Yes, for $15.00 a shirt or pick up a vintage NJDPP shirt for $5.00.

Will there be EMTs at NJDPP?
Yes.

Where do I go to find a personal assistant or information?
There will be an ACI information table set up towards the stage.

Will there be restrooms available?
There will be ADA accessible porta-johns available.

Will personal assistants be available?
Yes, they will be available during the event (go to the information table). We do, however, ask if you typically use a personal assistant, please consider bringing them along with you.

I am performing, where do I go?
If you are performing, please make sure you check in at the ACI Artist Sign-in Table at least a half hour prior to your performance. Event staff will be there to assist you.
