Middlesex County Core Advisory Group (CAG) for Individuals with Access and Functional Needs
February 12th 2018 from 1:30 to 3:00 PM
ACI, 629 Amboy Ave, Edison, NJ

Are you a disabled and a resident of Middlesex County? Are you concerned about disasters and recovery?

A disaster can happen at any time, this is a great opportunity to work together with emergency managers and FEMA to make effective changes in how emergency services are provided to people with disabilities in Middlesex County.

Bring a friend to the next meeting of the Core Advisory Group (CAG) and you and your friend will receive a free NOAA radio.

In 2010, FEMA began hiring disability integration specials to help make disaster response efforts fully inclusive of all people in the community. They developed a model called Core Advisory Group (CAG). In 2015 Middlesex County Office of Emergency Management and the Alliance Center for Independence formed the first CAG in New Jersey.

We are inviting those with disabilities who are interested in a balanced approach to emergency management to attend. Do not wait for a disaster to hit, be proactive and be prepared.

Accommodations upon request. Light snacks will be served.

For Middlesex County residents only. Please RSVP by February 8th to Argenys Caba at 732-738-4388 or acaba@adacil.org.

The Alliance Center for Independence (ACI) recognizes disability as a natural and beautiful part of human diversity. ACI is a 501(c)(3) community-based, grassroots organization that supports and promotes independent living for people with disabilities in Middlesex, Union and Somerset counties in New Jersey.

ACI provides information and referral services and develops and implements educational programs and innovative activities that promote activism, peer support, health and wellness, transition, volunteer opportunities and independent living skills for people with disabilities and their allies. ACI offers pre-employment services through the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) and Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS). ACI supports the philosophy of independent living for all persons with disabilities.
