Coronavirus Update from the Alliance Center for Independence - Partial Suspension of ACI Activities

UPDATE on 3/17/20: To protect our consumers and visitors, there will only be staff at the ACI office as of March 18th. We are taking all precautions to stay well and will be here to assist you as long as we can. We will continue to assist our food pantry customers. Please contact us if you need assistance.

At the Alliance Center for Independence (ACI), our priority is to protect and support our consumers, staff, volunteers and visitors. We have been taking several proactive precautionary measures, including implementing new and rigorous cleaning routines, and staying in close communication with our health officials.

Following the guidelines of the federal government and state officials, we decided to minimize our gatherings in order to limit the spread of the Coronavirus.

Beginning immediately, the following events have been postponed:

  • Fun Fridays

  • Adaptive Yoga Classes

  • Volunteer Office Skills Program (We will not be accepting any new volunteers at this time)

In addition, we will not be scheduling any workshops, presentations or recreational events for the rest of March and April.

The ACI office will be open Monday to Friday from 9 to 5 PM. The following events are still scheduled at their usual time and date:

  • Theater and Choir groups

  • Community Living Skills Program

  • George Street Playhouse event (UPDATE on 3/13/20: This event has been cancelled)

  • Individualized Instruction

  • High School Instruction

  • Core Advisory Group Meeting (CAG) - March 16th (Coronavirus presentation)

  • Access Link Assessments

While we don't have any confirmed cases connected to ACI, we believe that we must do all that we can to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our community. Please check our website and social media sites for updates or changes. If you have any questions, please call our office at 732-738-4388.

As of today, the NJ Disability Pride in the Park festival is still on for May 29th.

Please remember to wash your hands, help your neighbors, take care of each other, and we will all get through this.
