We are collecting stories from individuals who have had their Access Link rides canceled abruptly, experienced significant delays, faced untrained drivers on fixed-route buses, untrained in tie-down procedures or encountered malfunctioning wheelchair lifts. NYBIL'S EXPERIENCE: A CALL TO ACTION
On December 3, 2024, Nybil Ghanem, a member of ACI, found himself stuck on a non-working wheelchair lift for nearly 2 hours in 35-degree weather. Despite the challenging circumstances, Nybil remained resilient to bring attention to the issues faced by individuals with disabilities on NJ Transit. With the assistance of the Edison Fire Department, the wheelchair lift was finally manually lowered, allowing Nybil to safely disembark.
