Gotham Shield was a national FEMA-led exercise, conducted over several weeks in April and May. The purpose of Gotham Shield (GS 17) was to evaluate the whole community effort to prevent, protect from, respond to, and plan initial recovery after the effects of an Improvised Nuclear Device event.

Middlesex County, Newark/Jersey City Urban Areas Security Initiative, and other federal, state, county, and local officials will be participating again in GS 17 by assembling at SYK Korean Community Center, to set up and operate a Community Reception Center (CRC) specifically geared for people with disabilities and access and functional needs. Individuals are invited to participate in the exercise to experience how a CRC would operate in the event of a radiation emergency.  Participants will be exercising the part of a person who is assigned to go to the Community Reception Center for the purpose of population monitoring.

The Community Center is located on an Access Link Route, or contact ACI for transportation.

Accommodations upon request. Lunch will be provided.

Registration deadline is November 6th.
