The Achieving a Better Life Experience Act allows for tax advantaged savings accounts for individuals with developmental disabilities. In 2018, New Jersey launched their ABLE account program making these accounts available to thousands of individuals in the state. This workshop will provide an overview of ABLE accounts and provide an in-depth analysis of the benefits, limitations, and drawbacks of the accounts. We will also discuss how an ABLE account fits into a comprehensive estate plan and special needs trusts. The 90-minute presentation includes a Q&A session for attendees.
